Dear Dave,

I go way back with the Rocketbal. When they started in the 80's, my son Merrill and I sold them in parks and at fairs. His mother was in a wheelchair and needed full time care. We could load her up and go earn some money and be available to take care of her 24/7.
After she died and Merrill went on to college, he called to see if I could get him some of the Rocketbals to sell on campus. It turned out that Mr. Johnson had died and his widow was trying to keep manufacturing and selling the ball. We bought the patent and offered to supply her with balls for her customers.

We make the balls here in Bellingham, Washington.

We still supply schools with the Rocketbal (also known as Launchball)but our primary product is the dog fetch ball, the GO-FRRR BALL.

We are starting to supply little league coaches with a ball which looks like a baseball...we call it FlyBall. Same slingshot-action. They can launch 100 foot flyballs for the beginners without using a fungoe bat...or wearing out their arm.

I'm glad you found the Rocketbal again.

I like the D-day and Fat Boy nuke motif in your banner, even if somewhat anachronistic. As for growing your own yeast, will you also try other tricky challenges like growing dandelions in your backyard or dust bunnies under your bed?
