Well, I'm not much on rules - but there are a few things I like both parties to
keep in mind when trading. Here they are in no particular order:
Media :
Nothing specific here, I really don't prefer one brand or another. I do, however, tend to shy away from
bulk generic brands which have the "shiny" non-recordable surfaces as they tend to chip. Discs with a
matte non-recordable surface seem much more logical to me. I also don't use the wrong media lengths,
if the discs is over 74 minutes, please use 80 minute media.
Extracting/Recording :
Again, I don't really put any limits on this either. Basically, if you can send me discs that don't have
"digital static" or other such defects, I don't care how you extracted or recorded them. As long as you're
using DAO mode if you're burning on a PC based burner, we're OK.
Sourcing :
Now here I have some rules. For all Beatles trades I will not trade for or with material sourced from
MP3. This is just a personal thing of mine, sorry. For other trades I am willing to judge on a per
trade basis. Many people have asked me why I have this policy - it is well known that MP3 is a lossy format,
as any compressed format is - and while my ears can generally not tell the difference, I prefer not to get
bootlegs that have been compiled from MP3.
Artwork :
As you probably can tell from my page, I am very artwork-minded. I like to have first-rate art with
all my discs. However, although it is desired, I do not require art with every trade. I am more
concerned with the music. I have an HP712 color inkjet printer, and I print on high quality, thick stock
castcoat (glossy) paper. The final prints look very professional. I am willing to print art and mail it,
but I prefer to send a separate scans discs with all the art included, this saves both parties from having
to re-scan artwork when they want to trade the discs.
I also have the ability to provide
nice looking stick on labels for the discs themselves, albeit only in black
and white. If you'd like to take a look
at an example of my current label design,

If you would like labels, please specify so, I only do them on request
since some people do not like them.
Defective Discs :
This one's simple. If I send you a bad disc, I'll replace it right away. If you send me one, I hope
you'll do the same.
Shipping :
I send all my discs in padded envelopes, usually wrapped in bubble wrap also. I prefer to send without
jewel cases, but it's not a problem to send them along. Everything is shipped 1st class US mail, or
Priority.
Communication :
Please keep in touch during a trade! I am very understanding of problems that can delay trades, and
I also understand that there are many things which are more important than trading. If both parties
keep in touch throughout the trade, there should be no problems. I always send "status" mails letting
traders know where I am in the process, and when discs have shipped and arrived. This way everyone is
happy and has confidence that the trade will go well!
